Director's Log #3 : On Kickstarter and...
Article by Mathieu Girard (CEO of Tactical Adventures)
Over the past few months, we have given you regular production updates on what we have been working on. I thought that now would be interesting to share the bigger picture with you.
And it is thanks to you!
The Kickstarter Campaign has been a great experience for us – be it on the production, community or financing side. As we hoped for, the additional funds will allow us to add more content. You have joined us as a community, providing feedback, suggestions… and also reassuring us on the interest...
Kickstarter Campaign is over! THANK YOU EVERYONE!
That's it, the Campaign is over! The entire Tactical Adventures crew thanks you, each and everyone of you who made this Kickstarter a success. It was a wild month, but worth all the effort! But we're sure you're wondering about the last Stretch Goals. Did we make it or not?
Sorcerer Class - Free DLC!
We fell short of the Sorcerer Stretch Goal, which means we most likely won't be able to add it to the final game... at launch, that is! We've seen how much love this class received in the comments and on our...
You did it, 100% Funded! Stretch Goals...
You people are fantastic! We reached 100%!
Get yourself a drink, round's on us!
Thank you, thank you from the bottom of our heart. From the very start of the project, we poured the passion we had for Tabletop RPGs into Solasta: Crown of the Magister. We stayed in the dark for some time, turning a prototype into a real, solid and beautiful game - followed by working on a public Demo.
During that time, there is one question that's always in the back of every game developer's head - will players like it? Then we went to Gen...
The Orcs & Humans of Solasta (+...
The Tactical Adventures crew will be holding an AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit /r/games starting Thursday 26th at 7 am PDT / 10 am EDT / 4 pm CEST. Tactical Archimat (CEO & Creative Director), Tactical Zaz (Gameplay Director) and myself (Community Lead) will be answering questions live for at least 3 hours (and maybe a few more).
So don't be shy, come and ask us what you want to know! On another note, only 5% more to go and we'll be funded!

WotC granted us a license to use...
Great news everyone!
We've now officially received the license to use the System Reference Document 5.1 from Wizards of the Coast, further anchoring our will to make the most faithful video game adaptation with the Tabletop Ruleset to craft the game you are hoping for!
For those who may not be aware of it, SRD 5.1 is an official document with all the necessary rules to play, upon which we will be building compatible Solasta content such as Sub-classes, Backgrounds, Feats and plenty of...

Solasta at Pax West & Kickstarter Update
Hello there folks!
We're less than a week away from Kickstarter, and everyone here at Tactical Adventures is working tirelessly to make the Kickstarter Demo as flawless as possible (well, let's not forget it's still Pre-Alpha so there's bound to be a few hiccups). But that's not all! We're also building up our final Kickstarter Page, with plenty of nice Illustrations, Screenshots and Gifs. Here, let me give you a sneak peek:
No, you can't actually play the Demo right now, it's just a preview. I know some of you tried.
But that's not all there is,...
Solasta Kickstarter starts September 3rd!
You've heard it right, Solasta: Crown of the Magister will be hitting Kickstarter on September 3rd 2019... in a mere two weeks!
Are you ready? Because we sure are!
If you haven't already, it's time to tell your friends - because with the Kickstarter campaigns comes the Pre-Alpha Kickstarter Demo! Available for everyone and for free, it will be available on Steam - make sure to follow the page to be notified as soon as it goes live! (Wishlist unfortunately does not inform you when a Demo goes live, only the final game)
Gen Con 2019 Recap
Well folks, Gen Con was a blast. And not a piddly 1d6 Thunderclap kind of blast, we're talking about a fully decked out Eldritch Blast! (bonus to whoever comes up with the highest damage Eldritch Blast build)
You were many, many people to drop by to check on Solasta: Crown of the Magister - so many, in fact, that one of our only regrets was that we brought only two gaming laptops. Some of you came back every day until you could find an empty slot, others brought friends back (for which we're very thankful, spreading the word is...
Gen Con 2019 & Kickstarter Info Page!
Hey there folks!
Only one day remaining before Gen Con 2019, and you know what that means - it's time for each and everyone to get an update about the Kickstarter Pre-Alpha Demo! Because yes, we can now officially say it - although some of you may have already guessed, the Pre-Alpha Demo will go public on Steam at the same time our Kickstarter goes live!
When is that? Well... That I cannot reveal yet (SoonTM), but I can definitively tell you where to keep a lookout! We now have a new, dedicated Page with all the Kickstarter Info...
Gen Con 2019 - One week left!
Hey there folks,
With only one week left before Gen Con, we've been working hard on all fronts! For the Demo, we've been adding new rooms and polishing old ones - it won't be the final experience (you will have to wait a bit more for that), but you'll be able to have a pretty good idea of what you're getting into. We've also be working on some physical goodies that we'll be giving away at our booth, so be sure to drop by!
Now without further ado, let me give you a small sneak peek of the updates (but not everything,...
Director’s Log #2 : Adapting the Ruleset
Hey there folks! Our Creative Director & CEO is back with another article, this time going over how he handled adapting Tabletop ruleset into video games.
I've been wanting to describe the philosophy we have in adapting Tabletop ruleset to a video game for some time now. As I already mentioned in previous posts, I have played a lot of Tabletop RPGs in the past 30 years - and thus went through many rulesets over the years. That doesn't mean I claim to be an absolute expert though, for there are many ways to play on tabletop. For instance, some...
Director's Log #1 : Announcing at last!
Hey there folks, today's something a little different for you! How does an idea comes to life? What comes before a fully manned studio? I'll be leaving the stage to our Creative Director (and CEO), who will be answering all these questions and more, writing about the genesis of the Solasta project.
First of all, we are very happy and excited about our official announcement. It always feels great to come clean and tell everyone about what you have been working on for so long. Thanks a lot for all your kind words and genuine interest in the project....
Solasta Demo will be available at Gen...
You said "We want to see more Gameplay!", we answered "We will do that and more, there will be a demo!". You said "When?" and we answered "Soon!". How soon you may ask? Well... What about... One month from now?
That's right, Tactical Adventures will be at Gen Con 2019 August 1-4 2019, Indiana Convention Center: Hall B, with a Pre-Alpha Demo - which everyone will be able to play at our booth! For those who won't be at Gen Con, worry not - we're still planning on having a Demo available to everyone at a later date!
Welcome to Solasta
Leave your weapons at the door and grab a chair. Let's talk, stranger, ale's on us.
If you haven't already, we invite you to watch our Animated Trailer and our Announcement Dev Diary to get a better understanding of what Solasta is about - the passion project of a long-time Tabletop RPG fan, who soon was joined by other industry veterans sharing the same love.
Earliest Visual Target of Solasta: Crown of the Magister
