Heyo adventurers!
We’re dropping one final hotfix before going full focus on the next big Early Access Update… The big EA2 Update, which will raise the level cap from 4 to 6, rework a fair chunk of Act I and let you step foot in Act II! But let’s not talk too much about that now - wouldn’t want to spoil too much of the surprise would we? Here’s what today’s hotfix brings you instead!
v0.4.5.115401 Changelist
- Fixed looted chests appearing unlooted after reloading a save. No, it’s empty. No, it's still empty. STOP OPENING THAT CHEST!
- Fixed not being able to cancel touch spells like Cure Wounds when targeting an ally away from you in Direct Control outside combat. You could literally kidnap the healer by running away from them to the other side of the map.
- Fixed Landry just standing there idle during the Temple fight instead of cowering in the corner.
- Pressing Right Click should now properly close sub-menus such as the spell selection menu or the targeting menu instead of having to rely on the Escape button.
- Fixed a very rare bug where the game could crash when changing Graphic Settings.
- Fixed not being able to climb up the vines in a specific World Map Event featuring a nasty Wraith (if you encountered it you know which one it is).
- Fixed Star Child Sorcerer triggering shooting star even if they miss their attack roll or the target succeeds their saving throw.
- Fixed strange squares appearing in the tutorial section’s clouds when using an AMD Radeon RX 9060 and 9070 XT
- Fixed a potential desync that could happen in multiplayer when a non-host moves to a tile on the edge of the grid square.
- Fixed looting a pouch as a non-host controlling a companion making the loot window appear on the host’s screen instead of your own screen. Note that companions themselves don’t have inventories so the items will go to a hero you control instead (if you’re only assigned a companion, you won’t be able to loot - but why is your host only giving you control of one companion???)
- Hopefully the annoying “Target not sensed” bug against enemies right next to the player should be fixed. WHAT DO YOU MEAN I CAN’T SEE THEM? THEY’RE RIGHT THERE!
- Hopefully fixed a bug where the Warlock could sometimes walk infinitely in combat after casting Hex, breaking the game and desyncing everyone. That’s not part of the Pact, buddy!
- Fixed allies sometimes having yellow circles instead of blue circles under their feet and appearing with enemy colored portraits in Multiplayer. Traitors maybe?
- Fixed sometimes being flashbang’d randomly by a screen of pure white when entering / leaving a World Map Event.
- Non-hosts should no longer have characters sometimes spawning right on top of the camera during cutscenes (our cutscene artist was about to punch his monitor)
- Non-hosts should no longer see their character icon being all blurry in Long Rest screens. Do I look like I know what a jpeg is?
- Fixed non-hosts not being able to use Tactical Mind (Fighter) during cutscenes.
- Fixed characters having trouble looking at the right person when skipping lines during a dialog. I mean you try to follow a discussion when you can’t hear half of it.
- Fixed Faction Reputation tutorial appearing while being in jail. Because last I checked that’s not really the place to gain Reputation.
- In the long line of NPCs not using the right weapon, Damion should now properly shoot arrows with his bow and not his sword.
- Non-hosts should no longer have explosive barrel traps remain in the Initiative Bar after they blow up.
- Fixed Blessing of the Elements Feat not properly using your Reaction when activated.
- Fixed Charge Items like Wand of Magic Missile regaining charges on a Short Rest instead of a Long Rest.
- Hopefully fixed an annoying bug where characters without Dark Vision would still have disadvantage against a creature in non-magical darkness even if another character casts light next to them.
- Fixed Unlocking a Chest / Disarming a Trap sometimes not using the proper ability score modifier.
- Fixed the Agile Skirmisher Feat not keeping the character hidden if they miss a Ranged Weapon Attack while in Stealth.
- New feats / powers that recharge on Long Rest should now work immediately after leveling up instead of requiring another long rest.
- Fixed Vex & Guiding Bolt incorrectly lasting 3 rounds instead of 1 round max.
- Fixed some effects not lasting the correct duration when applied during the opening attack of an ambush.
- Fixed a rare crash that could occur in Multiplayer if the host managed to enter a new Random Event while a non-host was still in a loading screen from the previous Random Event.
- Hopefully fixed an issue where a character making the Skill Check was not always the one most suited for it. This bug has been haunting us since Solasta: Crown of the Magister.
- Hopefully fixed spells like Guidance and Enhanced Abilities not always appearing during Dialogs skill checks in World Map Events.
- Improved dodge animation timing so that characters don’t finish their dodge animation before the enemy even starts their attack.
- Fixed difficulty setting modifiers not being properly displayed in the UI when hovering skills in the Character Sheet.
- Fixed Death Timers being all wonky during battle and not counting from 1 to 10 properly like a normal grade schooler.
- Fixed non-hosts sometimes taking extra-long to join the game while the host is in combat.
- Fixed some Warlock Icons like Reassign Hex still using their placeholder icons. Yea no the big yellow arrow slapped on top of Hex in paint was not the intended vision.
- Fixed non-Hosts Fighters always triggering their powers twice instead of once, making them super OP.
Localization fixes:
- Fixed more texts going out of bounds in non-EN languages.
- Fixed some more $Distance tags appearing in the Character Creator
- Fixed some tags incorrectly appearing in some Loading Screens (again)
- Fixed Exhaustion Level 4 not having a proper icon assigned to it and showing text instead.
- Fixed Missing String Table Entry in a dialog with Ezen Merub
Known Issues:
- Choosing Magic Initiate Feat when leveling to level 3 on a Warlock through the Lesson of the First Ones Invocation will crash the game. That’s very specific. Don’t do it!
- Harpies can stack Bless effects through Song of Blessing. That’s totally OP! Kill them quick!
- There is a very specific path you can choose which can get you stuck in a cutscene in the Siklas Temple. You need to: Side with the Skeletons, say “We’re just exploring” to the Harpies, say “We don’t need to fight” to the Wraith, have it requests you to attack the harpies, go and defeat the harpies, and speak to the Wraith again. Did you get all that? Good, now don’t do it or you’ll get stuck. And it will totally be your fault.
- Non-hosts can still run into “Target not sensed” issues in Multiplayer. For the meantime this can be solved with a quicksave/quickload, but we’ll get to the bottom of it.
- Warlocks seem to always roll damage twice when attacking with a Great Axe Pact Weapon and clicking on a non-adjacent enemy (making them move then attack). Big damage, big not-intended too.
- Non-hosts will see red lines of sight during the entire combat if the combat started with the host getting detected from stealth.
- The Rogue’s Bonus Action Off-hand weapon can sometimes open the utility belt instead. That’s confusing.
- Spam clicking an enemy when attacking with a weapon can still sometimes trigger two attacks instead of one. A little less than before. But still doable. Don’t do it.
- Some players reported the game freezing and crashing while in combat when playing on an Nvidia 4060 Ti.
- If the host reloads a save while a player is joining the session in multiplayer the latter will crash.
- On rare occasions, reloading a combat auto-save can make random monsters be considered “not visible” by the game when trying to target them with a ranged attack before they move again.
- In Multiplayer, non-host players sometimes see no characters in World Event dioramas.
- In Multiplayer, when a new player joins mid-combat, they can sometimes see dead enemies appear as if they were alive (can’t be targeted though).
Alright we should be good! As a reminder you can help us find and squash bugs by letting us know when you run into them by heading to https://www.solasta-game.com/support and sending us a ticket (no account needed). Thank you again for helping dear players, and may we meet again for our next big Early Access Update!
Stay in the light!
